INFO ON SACRAMENTS

Parish of Saint-Henri:

Baptism:

To register a child for baptism, you must absolutely provide us with a copy of the baptismal certificate and confirmation of the godmother and the godfather that you have chosen. It is possible to have only one sponsor or one sponsor for your child who signs our registers. You must also have your child's birth certificate or attestation when registering. It is preferable to come to the presbytery in person for registration, but you can also send us the documents by email and complete the registration by phone. There are baptismal ceremonies every Sunday, you can choose the date that suits you during registration. You must attend a preparation meeting. The date will be confirmed to you when your child is registered.

Wedding :

Call as early as possible (at least a year in advance) to reserve the date that suits you. The bride and groom must provide an original baptismal certificate not older than six months and a copy of your birth certificates when meeting with the priest. A marriage preparation session is required. A deposit is also required to reserve the date. The information will be provided to you when you register.

Funeral:

Contact the presbytery as soon as possible to ensure that a priest will be available for the funeral. Please note that there is no funeral on Sunday. A meeting with the family and the celebrating priest is desirable.

Catechetical courses:

The catechetical courses offered by the parish of Saint-Henri allow children from 8 years old to be initiated into the Christian faith and to prepare to live the sacraments of initiation: reconciliation, first communion and confirmation. Information evenings are held in April of each year. You must attend to register your child. The routes always start in September. Watch the Events page for the dates of the information evenings.

ADULT CONFIRMATIONS

Are you an adult aged 18 and over and wish to experience the sacrament of Confirmation?   Do you want to become godfather or godmother or do you want to get married and have not completed your Christian initiation course? We have a path to help you make your wish come true.   A course of about ten meetings with a volunteer catechist will allow you to live this experience.  There are costs for this course, check with the secretariat.   You must provide us with your original baptismal certificate and a copy of your birth certificate when registering, which is done in person during office hours or by email.   Our email and contact details can be found on the Contact page.

ADULT BAPTISMS

Anyone who wishes to adhere to the Catholic Faith can request baptism. We invite you to contact us to meet our pastoral worker or a priest who will guide you towards this sacrament. The modalities are to be discussed according to the person's progress.
